Wise up for winter: the Trust’s new seasonal campaign

‘Winter is coming’ so goes the famous line from Game of Thrones, and EEAST like all other NHS trusts are putting a campaign in place to help communicate some of the main themes of the season.

We’re continuing to use the hopefully now-familiar Wise Up For Winter brand we created a few years ago, which can be found here on the Trust’s website.

Each week we’ll focus on something different, such as safety on the roads, adverse weather, health and wellbeing, and resilience, and a running thread through until the end of February will be call demand and encouraging people to make the right decision in using the NHS. This will include an EOC takeover week soon, during which we focus on what happens when a 999 call is made.

Our Twitterthons will also take on a winter theme, including the Black Friday date of 18th December and New Year’s Day. If you use Twitter, please make sure you follow #EEAST999 and #winterwise for those and others.

This year, we’re doing our best to ramp up the output each week, including videos, quizzes, infographics, blogs, and articles for the website and media. Whilst many staff and volunteers who have helped in winters past will be keen to get involved, if you haven’t done before and would like to help spread the winter wise message, just drop communications@eastamb.nhs.uk a line for more info.

Otherwise, please tell friends and family, especially those who may not be online, what it is we’re doing. You can find EEAST on Facebook and follow us on Twitter using #winterwise to keep up to date with the winter tips. But what is vital is your own health and wellbeing, and we’ll be posting regular updates about flu, norovirus and other guidance to ensure everyone is winter wise this season.
